PRACTICAL SIGNATURE GUIDES

From transparent PNG to finished document.

Start with a better signature photo, fix common background-removal problems, and learn how to position the finished transparent PNG without distortion in Word and PDF files.

A BETTER SOURCE IMAGE

Good document results begin before insertion.

A dark signature on light paper is the easiest source to clean. Photograph it in even light, keep the camera parallel to the page, and avoid including hands, pens, stamps, or printed text. The background remover can correct mild shadows and warm paper, but it cannot decide which nearby marks belong to the signature.

Export as PNG rather than JPG. PNG supports transparent pixels; JPG replaces transparency with a solid background. Keep the original PNG in a private folder and insert a copy only into documents you are authorized to sign.
