Why we built it
General background removers are designed for people, products, and complex scenes. A signature on paper is a different problem. It needs clean paper removal, thin-stroke preservation, natural edges, and a tightly cropped transparent result that can be placed into a document.
How it works
The tool estimates the paper color and lighting around each pixel, corrects slow changes such as shadows and warm paper, then converts the darker pen strokes into transparency. It runs with browser image processing rather than an uploaded AI service.
Privacy is part of the product
Signatures are sensitive. Your selected image is read and processed locally by your browser. The original image and transparent result are not uploaded to us, stored in a database, or used to train a model.
What it handles best
- Black or blue signatures on white or light paper
- Scans and clear phone photos
- Mild shadows, warm paper, folds, and darker corners
- Images cropped roughly around one signature
Known limitations
The tool does not understand which object is a signature. Printed text, stamps, table lines, hands, and pens may also remain if they are close to the signature. Crop those elements out before uploading for the best result.
